Web Design and Development
While my first big official website launch happened to be covid19.colorado.gov –– racking up over 100 million pageviews among 16 million users, I actually take more pride in my approach to redesigning the state’s health department website. From basic pages to navigation, I used a data-informed approach to improve the user experience, accessibility, and design.
Here’s what all went into the redesign:
User research, including interviews, surveys, and focus groups
Google Analytics and CrazyEgg research
Card sort activities to refine the navigation
New digital design guidelines and standards
Project management with over 50 web editors
Landing page design
Work plans with each division to establish accountability
Intensive QA of over 3,000 webpages
Weekly migration meetings and trainings
Presentations to leadership to establish buy-in and ownership
Note: If you want to compare apples to apples, have a look at some of these other state websites: Department of Natural Resources, Department of Human Services, Department of Agriculture, Department of Revenue, Department of Public Safety, Department of Corrections, Department of Regulatory Agencies, Department of Health Care Policy & Financing, Department of Early Childhood, Department of Higher Education.
